Using Energy and Chi as a resource, they pummel opponents with martial arts and energy based attacks.
The Windwalker Monk has had a teneous lifespan in the few months since the expansion came out and were considered one of the least represented classes in raids for much of the first tier.
Changes in 5.4 have made them much more viable and it is likely we will start seeing them on the battlefield more.
Changes for Patch 5.4
# Mastery: Bottled Fury has been redesigned. Bottled Fury now gives a chance to generate an additional charge of Tigereye Brew when the Monk gains one normally.
# Storm, Earth and Fire now deals 70% damage (up from 60%) with one Spirit summoned and 55% (up from 45%) with two Spirits summoned.
# Tigereye Brew received an adjustment.
It now increases damage by 6% per stack, (up from 1% per stack) but is no longer increased by Mastery.
A charge of Tigereye Brew is gained for each 4 Chi consumed through use of abilities and attacks (up from a charge for each 3 Chi consumed).
WoW Windwalker Monk Talents and Glyphs
The Windwalker Talent tree is focused mostly on utility, increasing the Monk’s mobility and enhancing their existing skills.
Level 30: Chi Wave is the best choice for Windwalker, allowing for very good AoE damage, something Windwalkers sorely lacked.
Level 45: Ascension is a passive DPS increase as it allows for Energy regeneration and more banked Chi for DPS Burst.
Level 60: Leg Sweep has the best utility for questing and AoE packs.
Level 75: Diffuse Magic is an incredibly powerful utility spell, useful in both PvP and PvE.
Level 90: As a DPS Cooldown, Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger grants exceptional AE Damage.
WoW Windwalker Monk Glyphs
Glyph of Spinning Crane Kick – Good mobility for ranged DPS fights.
Glyph of Expel Harm – Better range for hitting adds during a fight.
Glyph of Retreat – Allows you to drop agro easier.
Glyph of Touch of Karma – Allows greater survivability.
Glyph of Transcendence – Better mobility in fights.
Glyph of Blackout Kick – Better utility if you cannot get behind the target.
Wow Windwalker Monk Stat Priority and Rotation
Stat Priority – Reforging for 5.4
As a melee DPS, the WIndwalker Monk must keep in mind the 7.5% Melee Hit and Expertise before any other secondary stats.
Agility > Melee Hit (7.5%) > Expertise (7.5%) > Crit > Mastery > Haste
After those are capped, Crit offers the best return for Windwalker Monks.
